SARDIS… Samuel Roger Fullenkamp, 88, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, May 2, 2024, in Sardis, Kentucky. Sam was born on April 8, 1936, in New Port, Ohio to the late Charles Fullenkamp and Mary Bornhorst Fullenkamp.
Sam grew up in Botkins, Ohio and proudly served his country in the United States Army for several years. He worked as a control room operator at Dayton Power and Light for many years before retiring. He was a member of the Wapakoneta Eagles and the Sardis Lions Club. Sam loved to fly his plane and was always eager to tell everyone he learned to fly in the same airport as Neil Armstrong. When he was not working, Sam was always up for traveling. He enjoyed taking trips and working in his yard. Sam loved his family fiercely, especially his granddaughter and great grandkids. They were simply his pride and joy. For those who knew and loved him, he will be missed beyond measure.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Charles and Mary Fullenkamp; his loving wife, Janet Burke Fullenkamp; sister, Lila Mae Fullenkamp; brothers, Charles Fullenkamp, James Fullenkamp, Floyd Fullenkamp, Dale Fullenkamp, Marvin Fullenkamp.
Those left here to carry on his loving legacy are his step-children, who he loved like his own, Carole Leet (Tommy) Mitchell of Mt. Olivet, KY, Timmy Leet of Mt. Olivet, KY, Greg Fuerst, Carla Fuerst Gregor of Virginia; brothers, Delbert (Kathy) Fullenkamp, Virgil (Lucy) Fullenkamp; one granddaughter, Shanelle (Tony) Hargett; great grandchildren, Gavin Hord, Preston Hargett, Alyvia Hargett; several nieces, nephews and extended family; and two cats who he adored, Lady and Oscar.
In keeping with Sam's wishes, no formal services with be held at this time. Palmer Funeral Home & Crematory are assisting the family.
Memorial donations in his Sam's name are suggested to the church or charity of one's choice.
