MAY'S LICK  Sidney M. Boone,  88, of May's Lick, with his wife at his side, went to be with his Lord on Friday, Dec. 3, 2010 at his residence.
Mr. Boone was born in Richmond, KY on  August 13, 1922 son of the late Orville M. & Hettye Williams Boone.  He retired from Western & Southern Life Insurance Company after 31 ½ years of service and was a member of May's Lick Christian Church where he had served as a deacon.
Mr. Boone was a member of the Maysville Lodge #52 F & AM for over 50 years.  He was a member of the Board of Directors for the Society of Boonesborough in Richmond, Ky for 27 consecutive years.  He was an Oleika Shriner; a Past President of the May's Lick Lions Club and past Noble Grand of the Ringgold Lodge #27 I00F and was commissioned a Kentucky Colonel under Governors Julian Carroll & Martha Lane Collins.  He was a member of the NRA and a Charter Member of the Mason County Men's Club.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Thelma H. Boone, two sons; Donald Boone of May's Lick and Kenny (Barbara) Boone of Maysville.  A sister Norma Boone Brayfield of London, OH and 2 grandchildren, Bryan E. (Leslie) Boone of May's Lick and Rebecca (William) Boone Cooper of Maysville and four great-grandchildren, Aaron, Devin, Caleb and Nolan Boone.  He was preceded in death by 3 brothers Danny Marshall Boone, William R. Boone and Orville E. Boone.
Services will be conducted at  11 A.M. Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at Palmer Funeral Home in May's Lick with Rev. Phillip Cook officiating.  Interment will follow in the May's Lick Cemetery.  Visitation 5-7 P.M. Monday at the funeral home with Masonic rites will be held at 6:45 P.M . Active Pallbearers will be Bryan Boone, William Cooper, James Fouts, George Hamilton, Martin Halleran and Dewey Applegate.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Ken Boone, Donald Boone, Devin Boone, Richard Vice, Charles Woods and Bob Drake.  Memorials suggested to Hospice of Hope or May's Lick Christian Church.  Condolences to www.palmerfuneralhome.net
