Sylvia Jean Florence, 79, of May's Lick passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at her home. Jean was born in Mason County on September 25, 1938 daughter of the late Woodrow & Mary Alice Mack Purdon. She was a retired health care worker having worked at Hayswood and Meadowview Regional Medical Center with 30 years of service. Survivors include 5 daughters, Shirley (Jackie) Smalley of Wallingford, Janet Miller of California, KY, Kathy "Kit" Miller of Maysville, Angie (Chris) Spencer of May's Lick and Robin (Gary) Warrick of Somerset; and a son Terry Florence of Lexington. She was a devoted grandmother to 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers, David Purdon, Richard Purdon, Eddie Purdon and Billy Purdon all of Maysville; a sister Patsy Florence of West Union, OH. She was preceded in death by her husband, William L. "Bill" Florence of whom she married in 1955 and a son Billy Florence and a brother Ernest Purdon. Services were private.
