MAYSVILLE Tom Jefferson, 88, of Maysville passed away Saturday, November 10, 2012 at his home. He was a retired Auto Mechanic Instructor at the Maysville Vocational School and a self employed furnace & air conditioning technician, previously he was a service manager at Queen Chevrolet Oldsmobile. He also was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Mr. Jefferson was born in Brooksville on June 6, 1924 son the late Wiley R. & Vena Mae Claypoole Jefferson. He was a member of First Christian Church where he served as an Elder and Sunday School Teacher. He served as an assistant Scout Master with the Boy Scouts of America and was a member of the Mason County Band Boosters and the KTEA.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Mildred Mofford Jefferson. The couple married on Feb. 14, 1948. Also, 2 sons, William "Tom" Jefferson of Birmingham, MI, Donald (Denise) Jefferson of Louisville; a daughter Donna (Tommy) Fryman of Flemingsburg. 4 grandchildren, Nicole Jefferson, Philip Jefferson, Benjamin Fryman, Daniel Fryman; 1 great grandchild Sawyer Jefferson; 2 brothers, Wiley Jefferson and Otho Jefferson both of Brooksville and 3 sisters, Eileen Hester of Germantown, Norma Jean Vermillion of Cold Spring and Joetta King of Neave. He was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Jefferson.
Services will be conducted at 11 A.M. Wednesday November 14, 2012 at First Christian Church in Maysville with Rev. Steve Lesher officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Acres Cemetery. Visitation 5-8 P. M. Tuesday at the church. Memorials suggested to Hospice of Hope or First Christian Church. Palmer Funeral Home of May's Lick is serving the family.
