MAYSVILLE Wanda Gifford Fowler, 79, of Limestone Village, Maysville passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at Meadowview Regional Medical Center after an illness of eight years. She was a 29 year employee of Kentucky Division of Employment Services where she retired in January of 1997.
Mrs. Fowler was born in Mason County on January 14, 1932 daughter of the late Irvin & Florie Jefferson Gifford. She was a 50 year member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband Charles E. Fowler. A daughter, Susan F. (Doug) Carlisle and 2 granddaughters, Heather (Josh) Yocum and Hilary Carlisle all of Carrollton, KY. 1 brother, Elwood Gifford a resident of the Robertson County Health Care Facility. Several nieces & nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by a sister, Garnet C. Ring and 2 brothers Richard I. Gifford and James E. Gifford. She is also survived by 2 caregivers, Patsy Doyle and Barbara Clark.
Services will be conducted at 11 A.M. Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Maysville with Dr. E. Ray Throckmorton and Rev. Eric Patterson officiating. Interment will follow in the Shannon Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Duane Williams, Mike Gifford, Jeff Dryden, Johnny Gifford, Ronnie Dryden and Gerald Orme. Honorary pallbearers will be Elwood Gifford, James R. Dryden, Scotty Fulton, David Craig and J.K. Pumpelly. Visitation 5-7 P.M. Friday at the church.
