William Rees Clarke, Jr., 62, president and CEO of Security Bank and Trust Company in Maysville died Saturday, January 24, 2015. He was a third generation banker in the Clarke family.
Bill was born in Maysville on August 29, 1952 son of Jean Meloy Clarke of May's Lick and the late William Rees Clarke, Sr.
He had served his community as a director of the Maysville-Mason County Chamber of Commerce and the Maysville-Mason County Industrial Authority. He was a graduate of Morehead State University and was a supporter of the Knights of Columbus and a member of the Moose Lodge, DeKalb Lodge, Eagles Lodge and the Ripley Boat Club. He was a former Constable of Mason County.
Survivors other than his mother are his wife Victoria "Vicki" Clevenger Clarke; a daughter Cameron (Brian) Nurick of Lexington and a son William Rees Clarke III of Lexington; two grandchildren, Parker Clarke Nurick and Chase William Nurick; a brother Don Meloy Clarke of Lexington; an aunt Maude Guess of Gulf Breeze, Florida. He was preceded in death by his father; an uncle Charles Allen Clarke; and an aunt Lenora Chason.
Services will be conducted at 1 P.M. Friday, January 30, 2015 at First Christian Church in Maysville with Rev. C. Wayne Barnett officiating. Visitation will be from 11 A.M. until 1 P.M. Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O.
