William A. "Henry" Sanders, 87, of Maysville died Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at his residence.  He was a retired 40 year employee of Emerson Power Transmission and a U.S. Navy Veteran of WW II.
Mr. Sanders was born in Bourbon County on July 6, 1922 son of the late Sterling Lee & Elva West Sanders.  He was a member of First Christian Church in Maysville where he served as an Elder and a member of Maysville Masonic Lodge #52 F & A M   and a former Scout Master of Troop # 207.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Mary Helen Poe Sanders.  1 son William A. Sanders, Jr. of Washington, D.C.  2 grandchildren, Lindsay Sanders (Clayton) Rhodes of Nashville,  TN and Marshall H. Sanders of Washington, D.C.  1 great grandchild, Sanders Patty Rhodes.  1 brother Rev. Earl Clay  (Helen) Sanders of Flemingsburg and 1 sister Nellie (Richard) Righter of York,  PA.  Several nieces & nephews also survive.  He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, James "Jake" Sanders and John Sanders and 1 sister Ruby Cannon.
Services will be conducted at 11 A.M. Friday, June 4, 2010 at First Christian Church in Maysville with Rev. Steve Lesher officiating assisted by Rev. Earl Clay Sanders . Interment will follow in the Green Acres Cemetery with Military graveside rites conducted by Simon Kenton Post VFW # 2734.  Active Pallbearers will be Lee, James and Marshall Sanders, James Burns, James Rawlings and Dr. John Poe.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Clay Rhodes, Kathy Webb, Keith & Cindy White, Frances McHugh, Carol Ann Georges, Larry & Sandy Mullins.  Visitation 5-7 P.M. Thursday at First Christian Church with Masonic rites held at 7 P.M.  Memorials suggested to First Christian Church or Hospice of Hope.  Palmer Funeral Home of May's Lick is serving the family.  Condolences to www.palmerfuneralhome.net
