Betty Jean Clarke, 90, of May’s Lick passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at the Care Center at Kenton Pointe.
Jean was born in Tallahassee, Florida on May 28, 1929 daughter of the late Ross & Myrtle Meloy. She was an English instructor at Morehead State University for 27 years and a member of First Christian Church in Maysville.
She was preceded in death by her husband William R. Clarke, Sr. in 2014 and her son William R. Clarke, Jr. in 2015 and two sisters, Maude Guess and Lenora Chason.
Survivors include a son Donald M. Clarke of Lexington; two grandchildren Cameron (Brian) Nurick of Lexington and William Rees Clarke III of Maysville; two great-grandchildren Parker Clarke Nurick and Chase William Nurick; a daughter-in-law Vicki Clarke and her caregivers, Sue Moran, Carolyn Burns, Norma Cansler, and Bonnie Boulden and Mel-O-Ree farm manager, J.R. Boulden.
Services will be private. Burial will be private in May’s Lick Cemetery. A Celebration of Jean's Life will be announced at a later date.
