David Paul Tubbesing, 70, of Lexington, died Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at Baptist Health, Lexington, after a short illness.
David was born in Cleveland, Ohio on August 11, 1952, the oldest child of the late Richard and Carol Tubbesing of Maysville. He graduated from Mason County High School in 1970, then enlisted in the U.S. Army. He later completed his associate degree and worked for many years for transportation companies in Louisville and Lexington. Dave later was employed by Kentucky Retirement Systems from which he retired.
Dave is survived by his longtime companion, Jennifer Collings, and his three siblings, sisters, Barb (Jerry) Jefferson and Karen (Mike) Ravencraft, both of Maysville, and his brother Mark Tubbesing (Kathleen) of Lexington. He is also survived by nieces, Laura (Carlos) Armenteros, Sarah (Bill) Coleman, nephews Rick (Caitlin) Tubbesing, Clint (Adair) Ravencraft, Dean (Faith) Ravencraft, and seven great-nieces and nephews.
Dave had a quirky sense of humor, a strong love of sports including bowling, golf, fishing, Frisbee golf, and loved supporting the Cleveland Browns, Kentucky Wildcats,
and Cincinnati Reds. Before cell phones and streaming, Dave and his brother were once observed on a cold, windy, winter afternoon perched on the roof of Dave’s house in Lexington, listening to radio coverage of a critical Cleveland Browns game.
Dave valued loyalty, duty and obligation. He loved his family, his friends, his cat, and his country.
His request for cremation and no services will be honored. Palmer Funeral Home & Crematory of May’s Lick is assisting the family.
