Frank L. Day, 84, of May’s Lick, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2023 after a short illness.
Born on September 29, 1938, in Olean, NY, he was a son of Clyde and Pauline Skinner Day. He spent his adolescence in Portville, New York. He worked for Mr. Albert Childs while in Portville and became a life-long friend of Mr. & Mrs. Childs.
He joined the US Air Force when he was 18 and served 8 years in the service.
He had worked in the Construction Industry the majority of his life. He specialized in the construction of interstate highways in many different areas of the country. Later in life he was the owner of a small excavating business in May’s Lick, Kentucky.
His passions included John Deere Tractors, Antique Cars and Trucks and Farming. He was an outstanding mechanic, carpenter, and unsung Engineer. Frank is survived by his wife Pamela Day whom he married on November 17, 1984, three sons, Mark (Luiza) Day of Millbrook, New York, Michael Day of Kansas and Mitchell (Alisa) Day of Florida, and five grandchildren, Tyler, Kasey, Chase, Matthew, and Derek.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, September 22, 2023 at Noon in West Clarksville Cemetery, Town of Clarksville, New York.
