Gary Lee Riggs, 65, of Ewing, KY went to be with his Lord and savior Jesus Christ and his beloved wife of 38 years Wilma Riggs on Monday, December 27th 2021, at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, WV.
Gary was born on November 23rd, 1956 in Goshen, Indiana to the late Samuel and Ramona Conley Riggs. He was a long-time member of May’s Lick Baptist Church.
Gary’s work included time at International Spike, many years as a farm hand for many local farmers, Allison’s Concrete, and shop foreman at T and F Signs.
Gary’s favorite things to do included spending time with family. Whether that was with his sisters on sort of adventure, playing games with grandkids, serving the Lord with his church family at Jehovah Jireh. A food ministry at May’s Lick Baptist Church, Watching UK basketball or football, Sunday afternoon drives to see the beautiful countryside of our area.
Gary was preceded in death by his loving wife Wilma Jean. Parents Samuel and Ramona Conley Riggs, and a beloved sister Linda Dugan.
Gary is survived by three children. Jennifer Beckett of Flemingsburg, KY, Tiffany(Curtis) Curtis of Harrodsburg, KY, Chris(Lacey) Riggs of Ewing, KY. Four Brothers Roy(Tammie) Riggs, Freddy Riggs, John(Nora) Riggs, Thomas Riggs. Three sisters Shirley(Jim) Hinton, Anna(Mike) Little, Mary(Ricky) Miller. An aunt Thelma(Charlie) Kirk and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends
He has 7 grandchildren. Camryn Riggs, Jessica Riggs, Evan Riggs, Robert Beckett, Sydney Beckett, Savannah Goodwin, Ronnie Dale Goodwin, II.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm on Saturday, January 1, 2021, at the May’s Lick Baptist Church with Pastors, Kevin Cornette, Aaron Cude & John Conley officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Pallbearers include Tommy Verdin, Johnathan Allison, Rick Kitchen, George Walden, Ricky, and Michael Miller. Honorary pallbearers include Johnny Riggs, Darrell Adamson, and Steve Tincher. Visitation will be held from 11 am – 1 pm, Saturday at the May's Lick Baptist Church.
