Kimberly Nicole Payne passed away suddenly on Sunday September 17, 2023. Kimberly was born in Georgetown, OH on November 24,1977 to Jovetta Dean Brooks of Maysville & the late Gregory Louis Pfeffer. She was an employee of the Maysville Community & Technical College. She enjoyed cleaning, shopping, dressing up and spending time with her grandchildren, husband, mother, sister, brothers, nieces, nephews, and family. Family was a priority and she loved laughing, dancing, singing and just being happy. Halloween was a favorite time for her dressing in costume and was hard working, loving, and caring for family no matter the circumstances.
Survivors other than her mother are her husband Christopher L. Payne, her soulmate, her everything, and the person she loved with all her heart; four grandchildren who she adored, Carl Payne, Elijah Mathieu, Phoenix Landing, Minnie Joyce Lawson; three step daughters, Charisma Payne, Ciera Payne and Cris Payne; her sister and best friend Karen Michelle Brooks, four brothers, Gregory Brooks, Kenneth Brooks, Phillip Brooks, Scott Brooks (Nyell Brooks); five nieces, Justice Morton, JuNiya Morton, Skylar Brooks, Scottlynn Brooks, Brenleigh French; seven nephews, Chayson Brooks Jayla Boyd (Bryan Brooks) Scott Brooks Jr, and Kenneth Brooks, Jr., Andre, Daniel & Daylon Payne; two great nieces, Gari McClain, Aionna Thomas; two great nephews, GeMari McClain and Jayceon Morton; her beloved mother-in-law, Patricia Payne, sister-in-law, Michelle Payne and a special aunt Jackie Brooks. A host of living aunts, uncles, cousins and friends as well.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Carolyn Joyce Brooks, Myrtle Louise Pfeffer; grandfathers, Paul Pfeffer, Harvey L. Brooks, a brother Brian Brooks; two aunts Darcy Brooks, Jamie Brooks and an uncle, Harvey Brooks.
Services will be conducted at 2 P.M. Saturday, September 23, 2023, at the Field’s Auditorium at the Maysville Community and Technical College campus with Rev. Terrance Taylor officiating. Active Pallbearers will be Gregory Brooks, Kenneth Brooks, Phillip Brooks, Scott Brooks, James (T.J.) Brooks and Victor Brooks. Honorary Pallbearers will be Vinson Brooks, Michael Brooks, Jermaine Turner, Tayshawn Dugan and Dejuan Dugan. Burial will follow in the Washington Baptist Cemetery.
