MAYS LICK Charles T. “Sugar Bear” Lang, Jr. 70, of May’s Lick passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at Meadowview Regional Medical Center.
“Sugar Bear” was born in May’s Lick on August 8, 1946 son of the late Charles T. Lang, Sr. and Martha Warner Lang. He was a retired Mason County Deputy Sheriff and a retired employee of Emerson Power Transmission. He served his country in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War and was an avid fisherman and never met a stranger. He took great pride in teasing and tormenting his friends. He was a member of Second Baptist Church in May’s Lick and the Simon Kenton Post # 2734 VFW and the Fraternal Order of Police.
Surviving is his wife Charlene Williams Lang. Three daughters, Johnda (Malcolm) Williams of Cincinnati, OH, Maria (Eddie) Corns of Vanceburg, Tina (TV) Lang of May’s Lick and a son Charles T. Lang III (Angel) of Cynthiana. Fourteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and three sisters, Martha Slater of Columbus, OH, Mary Rudd and Peggy Humphrey both of Maysville, and a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Nina Carol Lang and two sisters, Annetta Fox and Dorothy Wells and a brother Robert Lang..
Services will be conducted at 1 P.M. Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at May’s Lick Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the May’s Lick Cemetery with military rites conducted by Simon Kenton Post #2734 VFW. Visitation will be held 6-8 P.M. Monday at the church.
