I just found this obituary. I am one of the 3,000 babies Dr. Estill delivered at Hayswood Hospital, and he continued to be my doctor throughout most of my childhood years. I remember every time I had to get a shot, I got one of those suckers on a rope-like handle. Seeing this photo of him brings back a lot of memories.

Dear John and family, so sorry to hear of your father's passing. He delivered my first daughter and said she was big enough to be a boy and the family ran with that news. The next day family stopped by to see my 9 lb. 8 oz. son instead of a daughter. I still smile when telling that story and my daughter thinks she was switched at birth. :):) Your family is in my prayers.     Sincerely,  Laura Planck

I have many fond memories of summer trips visiting the cabin, your home, riding Silver and laughing with Uncle George. Although I was so shy, Aunt Bonnie and Uncle George always shared hugs and smiles and their time, which I truly appreciated!

I am so sorry for your loss, my thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time.

Thoughts and prayers are with the Estill Family from the Bowling Green Gormley''s.  Uncle George was my God Father and I am truly grateful for his gift of faith!  What wonderful memories we have of the family events - and if anyone scrapped a knee - Uncle George would send one of the kids for his magical black bag.  What fun Dad and Uncle George will have in Heaven watching over us all!

Heaven is smiling with Dr. Estill's arrival.  How does one pay tribute and honor to a man who was my doctor, counselor and friend for the greatest part of my life?  He was a physician worthy of great trust and deeply moving compassion.  He was the Rock of Gibraltar on the tempestuous seas of life.  He was a friend like a father.

His love and devotion to his family was complete.  With all my heart, I pray you will each take comfort in knowing that he is hearing the words from our Lord,  "Well done my good and faithful servant."  Well done indeed!

I was one of the 3,000 babies he delivered.  I guess being the 8th child, it wasn''t too much work for either him or my mom.  I used to laugh and say all she had to do was cough once or twice and I was born.

Mom always thought very highly of Dr. Estill and spoke of him a lot.  She trusted and respected him.  I don''t think there is much more you could ask of a doctor.

My sympathies to you on your loss.
