To all of Nellie's family, our heart felt condolences and prayers go out to you.
Having grown up in Sardis and knowing the whole Burns clan, Nellie was special in so many ways. She was one of the most true and down to earth people that I know. Although I have been away from Sardis for many years I have never forgotten her or her family. I cherish the memories of them always.
May God Bless and Comfort you all.

My deepest sympathy to all of her beloved family.
Not only is Nellie's passing a present & terrible loss for family, but also for her church, as well as the school communities at large where she continued to be a dedicated & deeply appreciated teacher.
Nellie was a special friend ever since our college days. Catching up with her whenever I got back home over the years always meant so very much to me, an unforgettable friend forever.

To the Family of Nellie: I did not know you, but I think we might have been relatives (far removed). But if you put up with that Phillip Adamson for all those years, you were a great woman (just kidding Phillip). Nellie and I were the same age, so it has really made me stop and think. Her obit reflects her soul, and I know you loved her and will miss her very much.

I want to extend my sympathy to Nellie's family...I am so sorry for your loss.
When I think of Nellie I remember her smiles and laughter. She was such fun to be around. I taught with Nellie at Straub Elementary during the eighties. I was a young teacher at the time and she was so kind to me. I pray God will comfort you as only He can during the difficult days ahead. Those we love will always be with us...we carry them in our hearts.

She was my second grade teacher at the Mayslick school. I always thought she was an awesome teacher. I remember crying because she told us she was going on maternity leave and we would have a new teacher for the remainder of the year. She let me sit in her lap that day, I was so inconsolable. My deepest sympathy to her family.

There are simply no words that can come close to expressing our sincerest sympathy in your loss. To know Nellie was to love her. She was so genuine, and had a smile that radiated the room and of course there was her laugh that was contagious to anyone who heard it. She will be missed but more importantly, she will be remembered. May you find peace in comfort in knowing that Nellie is with her Heavenly Father. Blessings to all.
